Romans 3:24-25
Romans 3:24-25 Amplified Bible “and are being justified [declared free of the guilt of sin, made acceptable to God, and granted eternal life] as a gift by His [precious, undeserved] grace, through the redemption [the payment for our sin] which is [provided] in Christ Jesus, 25 whom God displayed publicly [before the eyes of the world] as a [life-giving] sacrifice of atonement and reconciliation (propitiation) by His blood [to be received] through faith. This was to demonstrate His righteousness [which demands punishment for sin], because in His forbearance [His deliberate restraint] He passed over the sins previously committed [before Jesus’ crucifixion].”
Mephibosheth-A Physical example of a spiritual Truth.
A perfect example of God’s Grace to us through Jesus Christ is the story of Mephibosheth found in the Old Testament book of 2 Samuel. Customarily, a conquering king killed the entire family of the former monarch. Mephibosheth was the son of Jonathan, grandson of Saul, the former king. But David and Jonathan had made a covenant together that if anything happened to either of them the other would care for his family. We are given grace by Father God because of the sacrifice of the Son.
Comparison of Mephibosheth and Christians
The Perfect Lord created a way for the flawed creation (fallen mankind) to live eternally in His Presence by taking the punishment for our sin on Himself. The invitation has been given. The Door has been flung open. Whosoever will, may come! Believe in Jesus & the great sacrifice that Jesus made for us on the cross. God Himself is both Just (to punish sinners) and the Justifier (to set them free from punishment. Romans 3:24-25)
