“Then those who feared the Lord talked often one to another; and the Lord listened and heard it, and a book of remembrance was written before Him of those who reverenced and worshipfully feared the Lord and who thought on His Name.17 And they shall be Mine, says the Lord of hosts, in that day when I publicly recognize and openly declare them to be My jewels (My special possession, My peculiar treasure). And I will spare them, as a man spares his own son who serves him.” Background: Malachi is the last book of the Old Testament and the verses I chose are from the next to the last chapter. Always take notice of last words. In His final words to His children before the 400 years of silence, our Precious Lord declares His magnificent love for us. When I read these verses about a Book of Remembrance and rose pedals, I think of a mother tenderly placing rose pedals in a baby book. Starting in the 16th verse of the third chapter of Malachi, the Lord gives the most affectionate and love-filled message to us His cherished sons and daughters. When He defines His kindhearted Love for us-He calls us His children. He is always near to us, our constant Companion. He listens to our conversations/our prayers and He even knows the intents of our hearts.
I want to assure you that our Lord is speaking to you personally and His intentions are to bless you beyond measure! In fact, in verse 17, He declares that you are His jewel, His special possession, His peculiar treasure!
In the time of Cleopatra, the pearl was a priceless treasure. Because of its difficulty to find, it was considered a rarity. One pearl was estimated to be valued at around 3 million dollars. But our Heavenly Father considers you to be beyond price.
The value of something is determined by how much someone is willing to pay for it. Connie Witter Jesus paid for us with His life’s blood.
Psalms 91:14-16 is our eternal covenant which our precious Savior secured for each of us when He died and rose again. “Because (place your name here) has set her love on Me, I will-Deliver her. Set her on high. Never forsake her, no, never. Answer her when she calls. Be with her in trouble. Deliver and honor her. Satisfy her with long life. Show her My salvation.” Jesus Today embrace Him and see His promise fulfilled in your life.
