Ephesians 1:6
Ephesians 1:3-6 “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ, even as 4 He hath chosen us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love,5 having predestined us to be His own adopted children by Jesus Christ, according to the good pleasure of His will, 6 to the praise of the glory of His grace, wherein He hath made us accepted in His Beloved!”
Just before Christmas, my daughter asked me what my favorite scripture was. I knew not to ask too many questions. There were several scriptures that I love because they have ministered to me in many ways and situations. But my all-time favorite scripture is Ephesians 1:6, “….He has made us accepted in His Beloved!” And on Christmas morning I found a lovely hand-made watercolor landscape with Ephesians 1:6 written on it, drawn by my grandson’s girlfriend. What a marvelous gift and one I will cherish from now on!
The reason I have loved this scripture so much is because the Lord used it to free me from feelings of rejection. This is how I read that scripture- “He has made Sharon accepted in His Beloved.” With that one scripture, He told me I was accepted in Jesus Christ and that He was all I needed. Glory be to God! I’ll never quit praising Him for what He has done for me. Through the powerful work of the Holy Spirit in our lives, the scriptures come alive with the great love the Father has for us, His children. In the Word of God, the promises are particularly meant for us first to apply to ourselves. I love it when the Lord reveals a special Word to me, just at the right moment. A verse to which I can add my name. May I suggest that you put your name in the appropriate place and claim the Word of God as your own, as well.
You are Accepted in the Beloved- Ephesians 1:6, “to the praise of the glory of His grace, wherein He hath made us accepted in His Beloved!”
You are Chosen- Ephesians 1:4a “He hath chosen us in Him before the foundation of the world.”1 Peter 2:9 But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a dedicated nation, [God’s] own purchased, special people, that you may set forth the wonderful deeds and display the virtues and perfections of Him Who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light.
You are Holy & Without blame in love-Ephesians 1:4b “we should be holy and without blame before Him in love,”
You are blessed with all Spiritual Blessing-Ephesians 1:3 “May blessing (praise, laudation, and eulogy) be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ (the Messiah) Who has blessed us in Christ with every spiritual (given by the Holy Spirit) blessing in the heavenly realm!”
Friends, let us set apart and dedicate this year to receiving the Word of God with gladness and allowing Him to change you by changing the way you think.
Romans 12:1-2 New Living Translation Be a Living Sacrifice to God “And so, dear brothers and sisters, I plead with you to give your bodies to God because of all He has done for you. Let them be a living and holy sacrifice—the kind He will find acceptable. This is truly the way to worship Him. 2 Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.”
